February 7: Students participated in our Annual Spelling Bee.

February 8: The Executive Committee and parents met for an open meeting to discuss a variety of school issues.

February 13-15: Averroes students collected canned food for the Northbrook Food Pantry.

February 20: The 4th and 5th graders, as a community project, organized a used toy and book sale to raise money for IMAN. Through this charitable project, students learned about generosity, pricing, marketing, and accounting. They raised $200!

February 21: Imam Senad guided the students through all of the rituals of Hajj. The students dressed in Ihram clothing and simulated the Hajj rituals throughout the school.

February 26: Eid celebration day! The students were treated to breakfast from McDonalds, then went to the American Academy of Gymnastics for a sporty morning. They returned to school for a taco lunch fiesta then an afternoon of in-school games. Whew!
