Conference Day: Conference Day was scheduled for Friday, November 22. There was no school for students on that day.

Two of Averroes Academy’s teachers presented a Ramadan craft activity for young children as part of the Northbrook Public Library’s Holiday Craft Series. The teachers spoke briefly about Ramadan and then helped the children make masjid window clings and pop-up ‘Eid cards. The program was successfully repeated at the Skokie Public Library also.

Artwork and projects by Averroes Academy students were prominently featured in the Northbrook Public Library’s Children’s department display case.

Two Averroes Academy first graders took the first and second place titles in their levels in the Young Muslims Quiz Competition. Held at Islamic Foundation, over 200 students participated from both public and private schools.

School day fasting: Fasting is not incumbent on very young Muslims until they are older. Fasting is a choice for Averroes Academy students. If your young child feels strongly about fasting, please follow the school’s guidelines.
