Nasheed al-Huda students practice for their performance at the Averroes Academy Fundraising Dinner. They eagerly work on two songs about examining one’s character and appreciating all cultures.
The fifth grade students, with the assistance of the teacher, have launched a Monthly newsletter called All About Averroes Academy! Using digital photography and computer software, the students publish articles that they researched and wrote themselves.
Parent-Teacher conferences were held to discuss the progress of each student.
Student Council conducted a Flea Market with donations from families of gently used toys and books. The students were exposed the process or organizing an event and using money for buying and selling.
The Parent Teacher Council brings the SCRIP Advantage program to our school. Parents can purchase gift certificates at no extra cost and a portion of their purchase is donated by the SCRIP organization back to the school. There are dozens of popular stores, restaurants and gas stations to choose from.
