Averroes Academy Student Council collected sold and bought donuts to raise money for their activities. The students learned valuable lessons about running a business through the event.
Parents were sparked to action as they listened to the Executive Committee lay out plans for the purchase of a new school facility. Committees were set up and everyone present vowed to contribute in some way.
PTC held a productive meeting that covered several items in planning for next year.
Happy Hundredth Day of School! Each classroom celebrated and increased their knowledge with interesting and unique activities through the week and day.
Literary Character Day is a wonderful tradition at Averroes Academy. Students pick their favorite book characters and come in simple, homemade costumes. They use their creativity and have tremendous fun guessing who their classmates are portraying.
The students were very fortunate to have a presentation by Caldecott Medal judging panelist, Lolly Gepson, as she share her experiences with them. She explained the process of selecting award recipients for children’s literature’s best illustrators.
No school for Presidents Day! Each United States President was highlighted for the students during these weeks.
