Averroes Academy was honored to host Professor Jeffrey Lang as the Keynote Speaker at its Annual Fundraising Dinner on March 11, 2005. Dr. Lang is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Kansas. Since his conversion to Islam in the early 1980's, he has written books about his spiritual journey to Islam, the role of converted Muslims and Muslims in the West, and the significance of critical thinking in Islamic thought. His best-selling books include Struggling to Surrender: Some Impressions of an American Convert to Islam, Even Angels Ask: A Journey to Islam in America, and Losing My Religion: A Call For Help. Dr. Lang is a passionate speaker, and is very popular among all segments of the American Muslim community.
