Averroes Academy had the honor of hosting Professor Abdal-Hakim Murad (also known as Prof. T.J. Winter) as the keynote speaker at the dinner on April 5, 2002. Prof. Murad was educated at Cambridge University and at Al-Azhar University. He has studied under traditional Islamic scholars in Cairo and Jeddah. Prof. Murad has translated several classical Arabic works, including Imam Qazwini's abridgement of Imam Bayhaqi's "Seventy-Seven Branches of Faith" and several other books selected from Al-Ghazali's "Revival of the Religious Sciences". He is currently a university lecturer on the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge, England. He is also the Trustee and Secretary of the Muslim Academic Trust and Director of the Anglo-Muslim Fellowship for Western Europe. Read some of his articles at www.masud.co.uk.
