Q: Is there a tuition reduction if there is more than one student in the family?

Q: Will grades increase each year?
A: We are focusing our efforts in the Kindergarten through Sixth grades while we are in the Islamic Cultural Center. Once the school has moved to a permanent location, we will look into increasing into other grades. We currently anticipate that our new facility will be ready for occupancy by Fall 2008.

Q: Why is there a need for another Islamic School?
A: There is no school with as heavy a focus on language arts and reading as Averroes Academy. InshaAllah, our goal is to develop students that are well rounded in the Islamic areas as well as the secular subjects. Averroes Academy has an environment that is God conscious and a demand for high quality in all areas of child development.

Q: Can a school bus be scheduled for a long commute?
A: The costs are simply too high given the geographic dispersion of the students to offer bus service to all students at this time.  With increased parent interest, though, a bus service can be arranged.  Several school bus providers are being considered.   There are currently many car-pool groups; contact the school to take advantage of our carpool matching service.

Q: Where is the money coming from to fund this school?
A: Individuals involved in this school are enthusiastic to help fund the school. Large donations are also being given by benefactors. The fundraising committee is working on approaching organizations for support of this Islamic cause.

Q: What curriculum will Averroes Academy be using?
A: Experienced teachers have a combined curriculum from the neighboring suburbs and other Islamic schools using the Illinois State Standards, developed with a focus on language arts, reading, math, and Islamic areas. Teachers work to accommodate each child’s needs in all areas.

Q: What benefit is this school for a 6th grader if you do not add additional grades every year?
A: Just one day, or one week, or one year will develop a better a student in an Islamic atmosphere. The amount of information the child will acquire in the one year at Averroes Academy will help him be a stronger Muslim as well as a more well rounded student.
